Midsummer, part 2

Once we got home I saw Sweden get beaten by Italy in the U21 game. I figured it was a good time to try some of the less exciting beers I've bought over the last couple of weeks. So I opened two summer lagers.

Eriksberg Sommarbrygd 5,3%

It poured a clear golden liquid with a medium foam that quickly dissapeared and left some lacing on the side of the glass.

The aroma was very weak but had the faintest smell of metall and bread.

The flavor was slightly better, smoth and malty with some tastes of bread. It didn't have that horrible metallic taste that I don't like about this kind of beer. It also lacked that acidic bitterness, so I would say this is an above average pale lager.

Total: 1,9/5

Åbro Sommaröl 4,7%

It poured a clear yellow liquid with a medium foam that quickly dissapeared and left some lacing.

The aroma was very weak with just the slightest hint of white bread and malt. I could however have been smelling water.

The flavor was also very weak, very close to drinking sparkled water. It did have a taste of metall and a hint of nuts and dirt. Thankfully it didn't have any acidic bitterness. Not a very good beer.

Total: 1/5
After the football me and Karin had midsummers dinner. Different styles of pickled herring, potatoes, sourcream, onions, smoked salmon, makrill, eggs and shrimp. All very tasty and I served a bottle of white wine (Ruppertsberger Nussbien 2007 Riesling) that worked great with the food.

  6. Yep yep, summer is looking good so far. Been out boating and everything ^^ Not too many beers yet (apart from the beer-cup ofc) but I'm hoping to change the day/beer ratio a bit this weekend ;)
