Pilsner.nu just reported that Schorschbräu plans to make a 45% beer which should put them on top in the war to brew the strongest beer. BrewDogs Sink the Bismarck was the latest nr.1 at 41%. I haven't found any English sources but there is a German news article here.

This makes me wonder, how far can you theoretically go? And can we even call this beer any more? What can we learn from these experiments? Will it bring out a new type of beer?
